The Mackay Community Garden is providing the world renowned 72 hour Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC) Course. The course is offered in two different ways. Those with limited time available can participate in the workshops on a monthly basis, with workshops held one weekend a month over 6 months, starting on the weekend of the 14th-15th June at the Mackay Community Garden located in Mackay. Those who wish to immerse themselves in the world of permaculture for a longer period can participate in the 2 week live in course at the idyllic location of Cameron's Pocket located about 50 km north of Mackay. Cost is $1400 for members of the Garden and $1600 for non-members. This is great value if you consider the live-in course includes accomodation (tent/dorm) and food (organic where possible of course). Through the Mackay Regional Council, Healthy Rural Communities program, we are able to sponsor several participants, from the Mackay rural area to attend the live-in course.
